UPDATE: Qatar, Emirates and Turkish excepted from the laptop ban
Three more airlines become exempt from the laptop ban on flights to the US: after Etihad, Qatar Airways’, Emirates’ and Turkish Airlines’ passengers are allowed to take their laptops on board with them.
The ban has been lifted after additional checks were introduced at Turkish and UAE airports.
On Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, for instance, US-bound passengers are now checked four times, including twice in the boarding area.
The laptop ban will still be valid for EgyptAir, Kuwait Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian Airlines and Saudia.
Also, the UK administration announced that it has no intentions to lift a similar measure affecting direct flights from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
