Ryanair cancels another 18,000 flights

Ryanair announced it will suspend 34 routes across Europe between November 2017 and March 2018, in a move hoping to alleviate the pilot crisis that struck the company since the beginning of this month.

In total, approximately 18,000 flights will be cancelled, affecting 400,000 passengers. This is in addition to the 2,000 flights already cancelled since the beginning of September due to the mismanagement of the pilots’ rota.

The Irish low-cost company now decided to ground 25 of its 400 aircraft during the winter schedule, apparently after the pilots refused to give up one week of their annual leave in exchange to £12,000.
